A Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) is a necessary component of many FEMA mitigation grant applications. BCAs help communities evaluate the cost-effectiveness of proposed mitigation projects by estimating the future risk reduction benefits of an action while comparing those benefits to the associated costs. This workshop serves as an introductory overview of Benefit-Cost Analysis concepts, requirements, and software as they relate to evaluating the cost effectiveness of common mitigation projects. *Describe basic BCA theory and principals
*Explain documentation expectations for BCA review by the State and FEMA

The primary audience is state, local, and tribal hazard mitigation staff; floodplain managers; and engineering consultants involved in the grant application development process who provide technical assistance
