Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Centers Tuesday, November 21, 2023 6:00:00 PM UTC - 7:00:00 PM UTC
The event has ended. Thank you Please join the Region 2 National Preparedness Division and the Northeast ADA Center for a webinar about how the Northeast ADA and the National ADA Network can inform and strengthen disaster preparedness planning and response for all community members. The Northeast ADA Center, serving Region 2, is one of ten centers in the ADA National Network with a shared mission of providing technical assistance, training, and research on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA is a civil rights law that protects individuals with disabilities to ensure equal access and equal opportunity. Mr. Zesski will discuss the work of the Northeast ADA and the ADA National Network, describe the ADA and how it can impact planning and apply in a disaster response situation, and share resources and tools developed by the ADA National Network related to disaster preparedness and response. Who should attend? The whole community, family members and other care givers, federal, state and local agencies, emergency managers, community and faith-based organizations. This event will include live captioning. FEMA works to ensure equitable access for all to any services and programs that are provided by the agency. If you need a reasonable accommodation, please make your request in an email to fema-r2-prepares@fema.dhs.gov. Last minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill.
