NIMS Refresh Webinar #10
Monday, May 2, 2016 4:00:00 PM UTC - 5:00:00 PM UTC
On June 9, 2017, FEMA released the refreshed National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent and common approach and vocabulary to enable the whole community to work together seamlessly and manage all threats and hazards. NIMS applies to all incidents, regardless of cause, size, location, or complexity.
FEMA is hosting a series of 60-minute informational webinars with interested stakeholders to discuss the updates to the refreshed NIMS and answer participant questions related to the NIMS. All webinars are open to the whole community.
Each webinar will cover the same information, so please choose the session most convenient for you.
NIMS provides a consistent nationwide approach and vocabulary to enable individuals and communities, the private and nonprofit sectors, faith-based organizations and all governments (local, regional/metropolitan, state, tribal, territorial, insular area, and Federal) to work together to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the effects of incidents. NIMS applies to all incidents, regardless of cause, size, location, or complexity.
The refreshed NIMS retains key concepts and principles from the 2004 and 2008 versions, while incorporating lessons learned from exercises and real world incidents, best practices, and changes in national policy.
